| Lume Dolls are the
creation of world renowned ball jointed doll artist Eva Wilson. Each one is
an original character influenced by the mind of the artist. Eva starts with
an idea of who is ready to come to life next, one of many waiting to be
born. The idea is then transformed by hand, using her years of sculpting and
wood carving experience, utilizing clay, wire and other materials. The
result is a finished piece ready to be used as the original for making a
mold. The mold is made by her
using highest quality silicone materials in a vacuum degassing method and
finally in a pressure chamber for the finest skin textures and doll quality.
The doll itself is cast using heavy duty resins, using the same vacuum and
pressurization technique as the molds, with a final finish by the artist to
present the utmost quality. Each one has replaceable eyes and wigs, and some
include innovative ideas such as replaceable teeth. Eva hand strings each
doll with heavy duty cord to ensure many poses which with the special design
of her joints, stand firmly for many changes.
The quality of the finished
piece is immediately obvious by its finish and substantial weight.
